The Icarus Mirror Collection, a close cousin to our Europa Collection, is artisanal, with a layered feather motif that creates a whimsical and stylish frame. The wall mirror's metal base is sand-casted by hand, a process that uses molds made of sand to accurately replicate a designer's intended form with sharpness and specificity, and is finished in brass or nickel. The name Icarus is derived from Greek mythology, where Icarus and his father attempt to escape from Crete with wings constructed of feathers and wax. The size—bigger than our other sand cast mirrors—can be used in a powder room, above a chic vanity, mounting above a desk, or hung on a gallery wall in concert with other art and mirrors. The Icarus decorative wall mirror is designed to complement our Ganymede Mirror perfectly, too.
Please note that there are D-rings installed for ease of hanging.
What We Love About the Icarus Mirror: The Icarus Mirror's leaf pattern is reminiscent of Ancient Rome and recalls organic, natural shapes in an elevated, glamourous way. Its dominant size allows the piece to stand on its own.
